Crisp, clear color

I'm going to veer momentarily into video geek land.

Have you ever seen the movie Unbreakable? I think it's a hugely underrated hero origin story - full of subtlety - which says a lot for a movie starring Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson.

There's an unforgettable scene in which the protagonist finally understands what drives him, and in that moment he assumes the role of the hero. We, and he, see the world in grayscale except when his intuition tells him he must act, when color and sharpness enter his field of vision.

This is an apt metaphor for anyone who finally realizes the answers to their questions are laid bare before them, they only need to see with new eyes, to trust themselves. The right choice is obvious when you know you're on the right path.

If you've never felt that uncertainty in your choices - then I envy you. Your world must be full of color.

But I'll tell you a little secret. I saw the world in kaleidoscope colors the other day.
